I remembered this place and was excited to pop in and see what some of the most intriging personalities were up to. I never thought this board would die but it has. Im actually saddened. To an extent a part of me is left on this board. I didn't have much of a social life as a teen, and back then it didn't matter, this board was like family to everyone. We truly cared for one another and any outsider with a dull boring personality was shunned and ridiculed til they got the hint they weren't welcomed. We had funny and cool things to talk about. Not the GEEK THREAD. Wtf is that shit? I wish I could get a hold of my old friends but its never gonna happen. And this fucking theme is the fucking nail in the coffin. FUCK!!! Pissed off and saddened at the same time. This is not what I expected. Alot of this has to do with the bands popularity. Its too underground now. Alot of the regs were from the WDT/ Machine era.

Hey, u know what be a good fuckin idea? For the few people who actually do wanna sign up and post here, they gotta wait for morgan or laurie to approve and it looks like theyre not on much. So what the fuck is that shit?! Fix the theme, email confirmation ONLY for new account. I only came here for the regs, so thats just advice at this point.

I check this every day. I just don't post much. And ever since the Tripp scandal we've had to approve members to join. And I check that every couple of days. lots of new folks sign up...but never post. *shrug*

I think the problem with needing to be approved is people sign up having something to say, but when they have to wait a few days they get bored and forget or don't care anymore.

Yeah you should probably ask about changing that back to open registration, Tod was kicked out at least four years ago. A stylesheet fix would be great too.

It's probably because of the band's old success in mainstream before half the band left, that it "used to be cool" and now that they're fame has "worn out" (in mainstream) so has they're boards, or people just got board with it, what do I know

Yeah but its like this for many forums I am/used to be on, people now just look for popular places to unload their shit to a bigger audience, this board was nice ‘cause we were more honest, it was all about just talking to each other.


Forums kinda have a different function now. users bottle everything up during he day and they keep it all inside ‘cause they know at the end of the day they will log in and use their forum accounts and blogs and shit as a punch bag, to boost their ego, to feel better about themselves, to let out aggression, to feel smart, relevant, cool or above shit


Now people online will jump at you with every kind of fixed response, because this is not “real life” you know, but they are forgetting they talk to real people. you ain gonna tell me in the middle of the bus "hey shut up don't spam". forums blogs tweeters worlds of warcrafts etc etc are all online activities with set rules for people who wanna take up a fake personality but I aint gonna be your punch bag. If you are not gonna talk to me like you would face to face, fuck it, im not all that crazy about hypocrisy

when I registered it took a few days, too many.
I really wanted to stay in the forum so I waited, but I'm sure I could have done what you say.
It took so much time that I even started to think I could never get in.
People want internet as faster as possible, you dont want to wait nowadays...


and I would put a color for text more visible, it's a little hard reading this boards, and it makes it a "dark forum" (=sad too)


and what happens with the heading? this could be cool 10 years ago, but now it looks very "cheap" & poor!

Nothing's perpetual dear. Remember those times when we were able to be honest without getting the bancock? The higher ups didn't like that, so moderation got stricter and stricter, and after the Epic Pedo scandal this place became the net equivalent of a burned down house with yellow tape all over it. I still check when I'm bored to tears due to emotional attachment, but I don't expect much anymore.

Anyway, yeah, this board was the greatest. I can't remember the number of times I nearly fell off my seat laughing at some of the shit here.

I think it's natural though for a band who put out great material in the beginning to attract a good fanbase, and later on as the talent and creativity die out make way for sheep and idiots. Which is basically what happened here. When Shadowzone came out all we did was make fun of it and the people it attracted were too numerous. So we made fun of them, too, and as "real fans", they'd get all the protection while we (I) normally got banned, lol.

I'm pretty grateful to be let back in here since a lot of memories of mine lay in this message board. Too bad it took so long for me to get approved, I hope Jon gets back here soon so we can chitchat.

I had a minor Static-X phase last week where I'd listen to WDT and Machine non-stop. I'd like to see Wayne write another Stem, that song rules, seriously.
