We're going to be using Objective-C.

nice, i use C right now at my work. I have a program that manually generates a c program for our presses. we go in and modify certain parts.

right now i am updating a vb program that was made over 12 years ago. I want to port it to c# or python just to speed up the process, but my boss says it will take a long time to port it. Maybe i will look into writing it over from scratch.

Yeah the easiest way to do that would be to figure out 100% what the program does and reimplement it. Hell, even port it to VB.Net, just get the hell away from anything less than that.

i will look into that. the most recent copy of vb.net we have is either 2003 or 2005. if i update to the newest version, will it be much easier to convert over to the newer versions of jet?

No idea, but it can't be as bad as the pre-.Net versions of VB.

Not really concerning me, but it is funny to tell.

To make a long story short, my friend sold off all her earthly possessions to make some quick scratch, even her vehicle.

She has no job.

A networking job opened for her that suits her qualifications... it's thirty miles away.

It amuses me.

ok, so ive been adding features to a vb6 project that was created about 10 years ago. I started looking up converting it to .net and i think i shouldnt even consider adding any more vb6 code and should just go straight to upgrading, then fixing the upgrade issues and then solve my problems with functions that were written in the 2nd half of this decade, which also happen to run more efficiently.

I think the fun part is when i upgrade from our access db to a full sql db. probably sql server 2000 but who knows.
