At Microsoft's press conference Monday morning, Harmonix president and CEO Alex Rigopulos made several surprising announcements regarding the company's next music game. Rock Band 2 will include a track -- "Shackler's Revenge" -- from Guns 'n Roses' upcoming been-in-production-forever album Chinese Democracy, and AC/DC and Bob Dylan will make their rhythm game debuts in the game.

Oh, and he announced the complete track list.

The game's soundtrack will include over 80 songs on the disc, with 20 more available as free downloads later in the fall. Also, all tracks will be master recordings, so no more lame covers to hinder your quest for the ultimate rock experience.

More good news: Every downloadable track from the original Rock Band will be playable in Rock Band 2.

What's more, you'll be able to export "almost all" of the tracks on your Rock Band disc, saving them to your console's hard drive so they can be played in Rock Band 2 without swapping discs.

(Here's the fine print on the above feature, courtesy Harmonix: "Online connection required. Nominal fee required for export of Rock Band 1 soundtrack to compensate music licensors for expanded use. Fee still to-be-determined but will be under $5. The list of exportable Rock Band 1 tracks has not yet been finalized as music licenses are currently in the process of being re-acquired.")

Rigopulos said Monday that in all, 500 different tracks will be playable in Rock Band 2 by the end of 2008.

Below, the complete list of tracks to be included on the Rock Band 2 disc (artist/track/decade):

How in the FUCK are they going to pull off Panic Attack by Dream Theater in this game???
The drumset's gotta be at least quadruple the size to even come close. That's not an understatement, either.

Not to mention you've gotta somehow make the bass into a 6 string.

Funny, I didn't think I'd be mad after hearing that my favorite band is being featured in a game.

Oh wow. So going to a rap concert automatically disqualifies your opinion on a totally different genre of music? Roll Eyes

Seeing as I'm from Memphis, home of Three Six, but now I live in atlanta and have met mastodon a number of times, including one night at a krispy kreme in atlanta where I ate donuts with them and their parents, I think I know what I'm talking about. I've seen a lot of people in concert. I'm very open with my musical tastes.

I think you might be a little butthurt because I called you out on e-flirting with someone who doesn't even like boys. Or maybe it's because your musical tastes haven't developed since 1999 and you still listen to primarily nu-metal bands like korn, static-x, rammstein, and the like. No matter. I refer you to here. It's page 267 of the now playing thread, and it has a few posts by myself of the music that came on my itunes that night.

I'm terribly sorry that I like to have fun with my friends and go to various venues to see a cornucopia of bands. I didn't know it would offend you so much that I in fact enjoy hip hop, punk, hardcore, metal, classical (see O Fortuna), avantegarde, big band, blues, jazz, country, dance hall, electronica, folk, house, afro-latin drums, broadway, new age, new wave, psychobilly, r&b, ska, soul, swing, world music, and pretty much every subgenre in between.

By the way, Three Six Mafia have an Oscar. Do any of the nu-metal bands you listen to have one? Didn't think so.

Right on dude.

Three Six is fucking garbage, I dont care how many awards your precious little rap group won. Does it make them any good? Fuck no. I dont care if you came of their asshole, they still fucking suck in a genre of no orignality and where everyone cant be original but dresses alike.

And nu-metal? Rrrright.

butthurt? Nah, thats your faggot buddies midnight & John (you know who you are).

You sir, are a fucking tool. And a good reason why these forums abosolutely blow ass these days.

(hey MidSun, all the cyber friends in the world cant hide the fact your a fucking loser, go hang yourself. lol)

You know, at first it was kind of funny to watch you make an ass out of yourself over and over.

But it's starting to become like watching a kid put a penny in an electoral outlet. You watch him do it the first time, and you expect him not to do it anymore, but then the kid starts doing it over and over again and you start to feel bad for how much of a retard that kid is.

You are that kid Tim. You make stupid comment after stupid comment and when everyone calls you out on your stupid comments you just make more stupid comments.

It's grown old, we all feel bad for you and your obvious deformities. Maybe one day you'll catch on and stop making an ass out of yourself, but I really doubt it. Here's hoping though.
