are there any local bands that you love?

There's this local band here (they play mostly allentown - philly - and NYC) called System Failure who are amazing. They're mostly a alt. rock band but they can rock just as hard as anyone (at least they used to..their sound has gotten lighter over the last few years..)

Terminally your Aborted Ghost, Umbrella(broken up), Words of Truth(broken up),Goratory. There are more but those are the best in my opinion.

aerosmith, godsmack, and house of pain. obv.

for serious, basically unearth and every band ken susi produces for. all the black market bands. today is the day. etc.

I've heard good stuff about those guys. They did well in the Terrorizer reader's poll this year. Will have to check them out methinks.

The only band from my town have split up but they were ok... exit wound.

All the local bands around here suck ass. Remember kids...Charleston gave you Hootie and Edwin McCain.....

Salem, Orphaned Land, Melechesh... I don't really listen to these bands but they're good. Except Salem which happens to suck.

My favorite local band is a hardcore/stoner rock/doom/surf band called Los Kykes.

Gutworm are currently one of my favourite 'local' acts and I'm they deserve to be far more exposed than they have been.

True. They played a gig in my town recently and to be honest they made the other acts look rubbish. They really got the crowd going and had so much energy. The album is good, i like metal with agressive druming (for want of a more technical term!).
