even though you sound like you fit that role and the role of an emo, I must agree with ya. It is a funny article and that guy is a major idiot. most anime watchers dont want to have anything to do with pokemon. not enough action and they dont flaunt the humongous hooters like Matsumoto from bleach, and there are only so many times where you can "name that pokemon"

Meh, my girlfriend and best friend are both big anime and manga dorks.

It's not really my thing, but I do watch occasionally, like right now, I'm really enjoying Blood+.

i would also add that most anime nerds tend to play online RPGs, like WoW and LineAge,
Korn was in town (shitty band, shitty town what will you do) and a friend of mine who really liked the latest korn stuff chose to buy WoW subscription instead of a korn ticket, a great night out few drinks lots of sweat, Jon's voice tearing down walls during another brick in the wall or endless hours killing the monster, getting the power up


another thing is that they watch anime series like they play WoW, non-stop ! It will take me like a month or two to watch a show on DVD, i will give it to someone telling them how awesome it was on friday and Monday morning they will complain how boring it was, guess what it's not the show it's you, you watched an entire season worth of episodes in a weekend

Well god damn. I'm sure a subscription to WoW will provide many more nights of almost guaranteed entertainment than one Korn ticket could provide. I don't like WoW or Korn, but if it came down to buying a ticket to Dark Tranquillity or buying something that would entertain me for weeks, I'd buy the ticket... But that's just me! Point is, everyone has things they spend their money on that others may find stupid or questionable. As long as they're taking care of their other responsibilities, and as long as they're the ones working hard for that money, it really only makes you look like a jerk to go on about it.

To be honest I think I'm the only person in the entire world who thinks anime should stay the fuck in Japan. I haven't met a single person that doesn't like it. Am I the only one?

Like everything in this world you have bad anime and good anime, its just the matter of tastes now...Check out some, you'll eventually find one which you'll like...

For example, I hate 90% of NOWADAYS animes thats for sure...but I always seek for the exceptions...and guess what? I find some great masterpieces like Apple Seed or such...

And yeah, that description of anime nerd is stupid because it includes anyone who watch it...but on the other hand it have great point!

I watch anime for years and I pretty much don't behave like they described there...Those are people who have no their selves but are drowning into teenage stereotypes(which I hate!)
I, for sure, know that I always had myself and I am person for myself, I behave the way I want and I'd rather die than to call myself upon some teenage stereotypes like emo/anime geek/metalhead or such...

But teenagers have that strong desire to belong somewhere, which is IMO very limited and it irritates me, but oh well, their lives...
