A few basic and simple rules. Most of these should be common sense.

Avatars:

First and foremost, avatars shouldn't be any bigger than 100x100 pixels. Yes, I know it automatically shrinks it down for you but the entire image still has to load and slows the board up tremedously. Many of you are guilty of this. Please immediately shrink your avatar images or I'll start removing them. If you don't know how or otherwise incapable of this just ask me and I'll gladly help you with it.

Second, please keep the animation to a minimum. Same thing, slows the board up.

Sigs:

The only thing here is once again size. Please just try to keep them to a normal size. Just because you have a huge widescreen monitor doesn't mean everyone does. It stretches and screws up the screen so be considerate.

Most importantly, please do not use any images not copyrighted to yourself or Static-X.com. This means DO NOT STEAL OTHER'S SIGS AND USE AS YOUR OWN. If you are using a sig or avatar that you took from someone else on this board without expressed permission it will be deleted. If someone is using your image as their own please let me know and I'll take care of it.

If you're in violation of any of these rules, please make corrections immediately. If not, I will make them for you.

So, i've been trying for a good 10 minutes trying to resize my sig.

I have no problem resizing it. It's just that when I do, I lose some quality in it. It gets blurry and barf-like.

I've tried saving it as a JPEG and a GIF (I have IrFanView, if any of you use that too), and still no luck.

I suck at the internet... can any of you help?

yeah, use this program called PIXresizer. It's really good. What I used till I figured out photoshop

but I would say the best way to keep the qualtity when sizing down is if you have Photoshop, hardly any quality drop when do it there.
