more types of drums in a kit is different than adding extra strings. adding extra drums gives more of a sound. adding a string makes it easier to switch from strings, but it also makes it easier to drop tune it without leaving standard tuning.

all in all, its personal preference. I think its lazy because of how I was trained to play.

I got really pissed off when I tried to cover KoRn, and I found out they used a goddamn 7 string.

ESP is the shit. I can play any guitar I want, and I chose ESP because it sounds the best when tuned down. Get a baritone model if you're tuning really low. I endorsed Gibson for years because they make great guitars... but ESP is just fucking brutal and nothing can beat it for Metal. The End.

Wow, for whatever reason I just find it really surprising that you used a Les Paul on WDT. I didn't know that, and honestly, I would have never guessed.

EMG's or Duncans for a distortion sound?

if you are asking what he uses, it is a duncan sh-6 distortion. He is going solo now, in the gibsons, he was using an the distortion on the bridge and a sh-2 on the neck. I saw a list of many guitarists that do that kind of setup.

No, I meant for general use, 'cos I'm looking at getting some for my Ibanez, but I don't know which.

Though it is the wrong thread.

well, I havent used emg's and I have only bought duncans once, but I would assume for a distortion sound, you could go with the Dimebuckers or something

Not very well. the hardest part is trying to find something easy to play when you are learning. my buddy seems to have an easier time at that than me. do you play?

I've played a guitar with Dimebuckers. The sound is a bit muddy for me. I realyl like EMGs but I haven't played any Duncans.
