a friend just told me he was just sitting behind his drumset and somehow in the middle of the song he completely forgot what he's actually expected to play. he even forgot what he's doing on stage. i just can't imagine how anything like this can happen but so far i never managed to be completely drunk on stage... so this inspired me to ask: ever had a blackout onstage?
I once completely forgot what I was supposed to be playing during the school end-of-year concert (we played Dirthouse ). At the beggining of the song I played way too many of the snare drums three's, but the rest of the guys went along with it, which was fine. In the end I remembered what I was doing and nailed the rest of the song.
Who comes up with genre names? I will invent crumpet metal!
The only times I have problems on stage is when it's way too fucking hot in the room. Honestly, before we start a tour I can the play the whole set in my sleep. I like to be that prepared so I can enjoy the show and not worry about remembering the songs. But I have come close to passing out at a few hot shows.
