Hey Wayne. First off I just wanted to say great job in Philadelphia last night. We were able to meet you at the meet and greet, we were the last people to see you, I was there with my girlfriend (redhead) and we had the drum head that and setlist from former shows. Not sure if you remember, but if you do that was me!
Anyway my questions are,
a) Does the band get to pick the music that the venue plays inbetween bands, last night it was a ton of Alice in Chains and AC/DC. I'm wondering because this is not the first time I've heard AIC being played inbetween bands at one of your shows, I'm also a huge AIC fan so it's very nice indeed.
b) Did you pick 3 Inches of Blood to be on the tour when meeting/seeing them at Ozzfest, or have you been aware of them for a while? What do you think of Cam Pipes? This is a great new band in my opinion, and I was very pleased seeing them again this year. Keep up the great work in selecting opening bands.
Also, why is it that you guys don't have that many crazy strobes lights during your performances? It seems that ya have this big bright light on Nick. It would be more energetic if ya had it where all the lights were synchronized at the same time to the music, like Shadows Fall performance, and if it was dark.

I've always loved the lights at Static shows. And after last friday, watching the show from the lighting booth and hence watching Brandon run the lights...love it even more. A lot of the effects were programed, I assume, but a lot Brandon did himself. The lights would be flickering on stage like crazy and I'd see Brandon literally playing the lighting board like a piano. It was pretty cool.

I saw him playing that in Philly. Well I didn't actually know what he was doing, I thought he might be adding some keyboards to the show because it looked like he was playing a keyboard. It's nice to actually know what was going on now!
Recently our goal with the lighting is to keep the band well lit instead of having a dance floor effect. After all, everyone is paying to see the band, not some blinking lights!

True....but i have always LOVED the crazy lighting at Static-X shows. From the alternating blikning white lights 42 seconds into "Bled for Days" to the House of Bluse in Anaheim (before Disney going all ape-shit on Metal) when you guys finished a song, you yelled "THANK YOU" (during Cannibal Killers Tour), the place went dark for a few seconds and then a Strobe Light went of in sync to the begining of "This is Not", I have always loved the lighting at Static-X shows. I noticed that even though the Avalon in L.A. has awesome lighting capabilities, you guys didnt make as much use of it as you could have. I respect your reasoning though.
Cant wait for the next album and tour!!!!
