Wayne, you've been saying especially during the making of Cannibal that you're going after a more guitar and metal-driven approach to the newer CDs. I was just wondering, are you planning on dropping the industrial sound altogether in the future? Don't get me wrong, I've never been disapointed one bit in any of Static-X's albums but being a "rivethead" I would hope you guys would keep some of the industrial roots going. I think it brings out a big part of Static-X's personality. So lemme' know whatsup if you can.

metalhead, I dont think they would go great w/o the metal sound. Most bands arent as great when they try and change their sound that drastically. However there are a few that do, such as Rob zombie and his more country style metal and Pm5k for their more punk sound.

I didn't get that from anything Wayne has said.

He said he's trying to do longer intros and longer breakdowns with crunchy guitar riffs and guitar solos.

He never said anything about taking away the industrial feel.

Listen to Cannibal, it still has the vintage Static-X sound, but it brings something new to the table. I expect the next album will sound like Cannibal, only more extreme.

Yeah like Chemical Logic, blending in the chorus with Waynes vocals and the robotic voice.

For me Rob Zombie failed changing to country music, and Powerman to punk. Some people might find it good.... but no way near what they were.

it must be me but zombie's last album sounded like it had more of a country twang to some of the songs. pm5k actually played down here about 2 months ago. Darksun opened up for em.

would be nice if static would add some melody in their stuff i love all the albums but somehow Cannibal took the longest to sink in.

The only orignal member left in PM5K is Spider One (the singer) and they put out an album 2 years ago, which had a power-pop-punk feel to it. Their next album (which will be out next year I guess) is supposed to be a return to form for them.

its an old school term for an industrial music fan.

i loved zombie's last album i thought it was stronger than the 2 before it without a doubt. and it wasnt fucking country it was rockabilly/rocka and roll/alice cooper stuff. country is farther downt he twang scale. haha.

as for powerman, they are still around, the last album wasnt that great, but they are trying, and Spider is a great guy. the new album has been said to be heavier and have some techno-y stuff again.
