My sister and I (its her first concert ever) have the Operation Annihilation Pre-sale VIP tickets and meet and greet things.
We were both wondering, what exactly happens at these meet and greets? Do we get to take pictures or what? I'm sure I sound lame, but hey, there's a first time for everything right?

Hehe thanks!
I'll try to videotape the concert, it's the October 26th show in Albuquerque, so I don't know the rules Sunshine theatre has on video equipment. My twin brother's been kicked from a concert from there before because he brought his Nikon, and thats just a photography camera.
I will take tons and tons of pictures though, if I can. Big Grin

Usually at a meet and greet the band sits behind a table, signs autographs, takes pictures, and shakes the hands of fans, etc.

But since this is a private meet and greet it might be a little different...

I'm sure Wayne will tell us if it is.

Hey!
I'm going to the Albuquerque show too. Yeahthe Sunshine can be pretty anal about people bringing in cameras and things like that. Even camera phones. You're better off sneaking it in if they decide to ban em'. They didn't used to be so strict. Tickets are really expensive now too. $37 Eek

Oh I know, I bought the pre-sale tickets. I thought it was a good deal. It'll be my second Static-X concert, but my first concert at the Sunshine since 2005. I hope to see you there!

Yes, but 37 bucks is ridiculous. The tickets are 22.50 in Philadelphia and I thought that was a tad bit high.

I'm more used to the 12-18 dollar range for smaller venues.

For most concerts here we pay upwards of $80 a ticket... wtf!

$98.60 for the presale VIP, but I also get two t-shirts, two posters, and get to go to this meet and greet thing, so I thought it was a good deal.

::rolls her eyes::

Fucking, eh if all I had to do was pay $37 for a show, any show, I'd be a happy camper! I've paid from $28-150 for a single ticket (not just Static-X) and that is all the cheap shows haha. Some show tickets here go for $300 and up for the shitty seats. Fuck me, I guess it's time to move to a small town for my concert going pleasure.....NOT LIKELY GONNA HAPPEN!! devil Wouldn't be anywhere but here baby...well, SoCal, but that's it currently hahahahaa Razz

You pay for the band you're seeing. Personally I think anyone who pays 300 bucks for a concert is a fucking idiot, because no band is worth that much, and even if a band worth it they're still really fucking shitty people to charge their fans that much to see them.

The highest I ever paid was 90 bucks a ticket. The lowest was probably around 5. I understand that ticket prices vary, but that doesn't mean that 37 bucks for Static-X isn't a lot. I love them, and it's worth it to me, and probably everyone else on the board too, but you gotta think about the non-hardcore fans. The people who are on the mend about going or not going. A 37 dollar ticket price is going to turn them off to the concert. A concert has to be priced accordingly not to just the hardcore fans, but the casuals too, or it won't be a successful concert.

We don't set the ticket prices. In fact the band usually makes no money on tour. Some prices are higher than normal on this tour because the line-up is fucking awesome and everyone has to pay their bills.
