Wayne answered this question last year. If you search through his post archives it will tell you. Smile

there are quite a bit of different types of vegetarians. I, like Wayne, only eat fish for a source of protein. That, and I think I would die if I wasn't allowed to eat sushi.
But there are vegetarians who won't even eat fish. And then there are vegans, who won't eat any product that has come from an animal, such as eggs, milk, etc.

I actually never understood any of this.

In my mind it was always you're a vegetarian or you're not. I never understood I'm not going to eat one meat but I'll eat this kind of meat. But I don't really know much about the subject. All I know is if you're not eating any kind of meat (fish included) it's hard for people to stay healthy because of the nutrients they're not getting. I also wouldn't want to be the one to tell people how to live their lives.

I don't eat meat (besides fish) because I'm a texture person when it comes to eating. The texture and the taste of the food grosses me out. This includes chicken and turkey. I have always been like that. But fish, for some reason is really good in my opinion. It's all different peoples opinions of things. Some people don't eat any meat at all because they think of the animals, but then they have to find some other source of protein (like pills) to stay healthy.

I agree about being a texture person. There are certain textures that I can not stand. Anything soggy will make me throw up for instance. I think everyone has those quirks about them though.

Anything gritty or tiny seeds and I'm spittin it out.

I eat a lot of chicken and pork. Mostly chicken though. Rarely eat red meat. I just don't like it really. And I never eat fish or any seafood. I can't stand the taste. I live in a coastal city with some of the best seafood (supposedly) ever and I don't touch it. Well, I will try new things. But I never really like it...except tuna. I love tuna.

I cannot stand any kind of seafood or fish either. I don't see how anyone can get past the smell, let alone eat it.

::waves to the room::

There ARE many kinds of vegetarians. Vegans, like stated earlier, typically don't eat or wear anything related directly toward animals, even by-products, but most vegetarians own a leather pair of boots, or have pets, so it's not like they are usually like "Waaaaa, the poor little animals shouldn't be held captive." Then get rid of your 'captive' pet you love so very much and toss those DocMarten's. I have several friends whom don't eat 'anyting with legs' which means it probably a land based mammal, which is a total turnoff. there are LOADS of meats that don't walk. More than that heavy meat makes me feel like a freaking lead weight, and I move wayyyy too much to be logged down from flesh. Besides...you don't ever hear of many Americans living to a healthy 100 years old, but those Chinese and other countries of Asia seem to have figured it out thousands of years ago! Anyway, whatever you eat, flesh or not, of land or sea, eat it in good health all of you!!!

if you eat sushi or sushimi most fish has .01% smell, at least from my expierience. with good fish like red tuna, your teeth should bite right thru it like butter. its good stuff with some soy sauce and maybe a bit of that green stuff
