I have the masters to the original Deep Blue Dream record, before Wayne Wells changed the name of the band to Static X. It has been out of print for about 17 years. Do you think anyone would be interested in buying this record?

Question:
Do you think anyone would be interested in buying this record?

Choices:
Yes
No

Yeah, there are definitley some people who'd like to get their hands on that. But keep in mind that DBD and Static-X are two different bands.

If you mean the actual record, then sure.

If you mean you'll make copies and sell it to us, and make money off of Wayne Static, then hell no.

MidnightSun,

I understand your sentiments, and respect your statement. I assure you the tracks are the real deal, as I am one of the founding members of Criterion Records, and we own the masters.

MidnightSun,

One more thing. We believed in Wayne when nobody else did. We also put our hard earned money down to buy the studio time, pay for the artwork, pay for the pressings, mastering, ads in national magazines, calling radio stations, mailing costs, etc, not to mention going out on the road with the band at our cost, etc. We will make sure Wayne gets his cut, as well as Bobby Pomeroy (Drums), and Eric Harris (Bass). We are so happy for Wayne, and wish him continued succsess. We are just curious if there is now a market for this record. If so we sure would not mind (at least) making our money back, and at the same time filling a need in the marketplace. We were the little guys that believed in Wayne's talent, once upon a time..and we still do.

Icarus, have you spoke to Wayne about this?

Also, you have to realize we have no idea who you are and we're just protective of the band. Smile

Laurie,
Laurie,

We have attempted to contact Wayne, to no avail. I respect Wayne not only as an artist, but as a man. We would be happy to engage in a dialog, and we have never been in an adversarial relationship with him. What ever the situation, I believe this record stands as an artistic achevement, and deserves to be a part of the greater body of work.

We would respect Wayne's wishes, but I can see no reason for him to not want this record to be available to the public.

Fail.

I'm sure there would be a market for this album, and I'm sure that if you really were that determined to contact Wayne you'd of managed it by now.

Still, there is a chance he may read this message. It certainly would be interesting to get a decent copy of DBD

We would love to talk to Wayne, and welcome any avenue of communication. We were always friends, and have no reason to believe anything has changed. If you have his number, please by all means call him and let him know we would like to talk to him. Smile

I'd suggest trying to get hold of the board admin, maybe Laurie can help you there.

Laurie,

Thanks Laurie. We tried to contact Strategic Artist Management, Gayle Boulware, and Warner Bros but so far no luck.

Wow, that would be pretty cool. I'm interested in finding out what happens.

Are there any full length music videos of DBD anywhere?
