eh rick wouldnt be my choice for this sound. i mean he made the beasties sound kinda thin, and he has never made *in my eyes* a really fat, thick sounding album. closes is some of the slayer stuff, but eh.

this project should really be an all in house industrial deal. no genre bending, or mixing. just industrial, if wayne starts playing up the 'alternative' thing, it'll just be static-x part two.

are you kidding me? he has produced some awesome albums. A few to name include all of SOADs albums, the best slayer albums, danzig's albums, aswell as LP's newest album and is currently working on metallica's new album. Im sure Wayne would like to work with Rick Rubin, being a slayer fan himself. Rick has also released some majorly successful albums in other musical genres. One of the best producers

No, Static-X is a metal band that focuses around rhythm and incorporates electronics and some trancy moments.

I'd like it to be very trancy, very rave and technoish sounding, but still retain a heavy sound. Something like The Trance Is The Motion, only pushing the trance/rave sound even farther.

+1

Although I still want crunchy guitar too.... Big Grin

I agree with Rue here, just because Rick Rubin has produced some great albums doesn't mean he'd be the best choice for Wayne.

Truthfully I'd rather see Wayne do this project on his own, but if he was going to get a producer I'd rather see Ulrich Wild come back into the fold.

At the end of the day its up to him who he picks. It depends on what Wayne is hoping to achieve with pighammer. Perhaps he wants a new direction with new people. Ulrich Wild has produced nearly all Static-x's albums, and I believe Wayne isnt going for the sound that Ulrich is famous for producing. Again, its dependat on how the project wants to pan out

Korn? few years ago YEEES! Big Grin
Korn NOW!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Just one sentence - "Music video for Twisted Transistor"...
Just sad, and udescribably disappointing...

Now what I would like:
Well, I know it is not so possible, but Frank Klepacki's music and STATIC-X are just born for each other, to me Big Grin(besides Frank make only music for gmaes, mostly C&C serial)
And if Crunchy gutar is what I think it is, than Frank have more than enough crunchy gutiras Big Grin

Than KMFDM, NIN...
Also Al and Burton are always AWESOME suggestion...
You know what I mean...some awesome electronics +heaviness...

Sicne we all want more elcetronics on the SX's new album, maybe is time for Wayne to work with electronic these days more than usually ^^

Anyway! I just don't want Wayne to screw up something ^^ that's all that matters to me... I just want Wayne to stay away from pop/hip hop bullshit, and everything will be awesome, just like always, wayne simply rocks, he is great artist, and I can count on SX's music always ^^

P.S.
Hey somebody thought about Pichshifter?

I don't see anything wrong with hip-hop/pop. I'm not against certain genres, just against certain music. For me recently, lyrics have been a big factor in my music tastes. I will pretty much listen to any genre, Im open to anything. But I do seem to preffer the metal sound though!

Pigammer similar to old korn, would be awesome to me too Vegeta.

Niether I have much against generes, but hip hop and pop and similar bullshit? no I can't take it Big Grin
And it's more about moral and pride of the bend...you know what I mean...

For example, you remember what Linkin Park did? that album with Jay-Z...Jay-Z is Celebrity pimp, man!!! Who has nothing to do with any kind of uncommercial music, yet they merged...
Oh god, LP sinked so low +destroyed their musc, just for wretched money! I couln't belive it...

And for me lyrics are important but not as nearly as music, because music is music, not a recite...so song should be good in every aspect, but firstly in musical aspect IMO

I think Wayne was always into industrial stuff, so it should not be problem for him to find some kick ass band for Pighammer.

Hey maybe wayne is planning something with Skinny Puppy? that would be awesome as awlays! ^_^

I sort of agree with you about Linkin Park and Jay-Z... BUT, I prefer their combined version of "Points of Authority / 99 Problems / One Step Closer" over the Jay-Z original.

***Attention Wayne Static*** STATIC-X NEEDS TO COME BACK TO WESTERN MASS!! *thumbs up*

I think Wayne too is quite open to genre tastes too. Afterall he did do a collaboration with Dead prez! Remember the track 'hip-hop' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlTHoFeUZlA

Im not afraid to admit to liking some hip-hop including some fort minor, old-school public enemy etc. I stay away from Gangster Rap due to frequency that Women are subjected just as sexual objects and the constant over use of violence

SOAD's albums were also all co-produced. the self titled one is the one where rick had the most power, and that is hands down, the worst produced.
they slayer albums he did are shoddy in the production relm. the writing is heavy, and the writing is some of the best slayer stuff, but the PRODUCTION is crap. jus cus the album is great doesnt mean the producer made it so...
danzig? the production on the ones that rick did suck. not as much as blakaciddevil but they still suck PRODUCTION wise.
and again, his work in other genres isnt all that impressive, a good producer works in other sounds, otherwise they become a joke.
his work with cash, is great, but not what wayne is going for.
he fucked over FLiPPER with his big label polotiKs, and as far as producing metallica's new album? i love metallica, and i can assure yout he PRODUCTION QUALITY on this wont TOUCH the black album. say what you will about Bob Rock, but on a technical level he is an AMAZING producer.

and Linkin Park? are you fuckign kidding me?! did you HEAR that new album? i record better guitar tone through crappy ass Line 6 pods. the new LP album has worse production than Beg To Differ by Prong.

and to (mi)Key, 99 Problems was better when Ice-T did it a long time ago. haha. you should actually check it out. Ice-T is the MAN.

I'd like to hear pigs being hammered, but with different types of hammers. Like a sledge, a claw hammer, maybe even a hammer drill. They can be alive or dead, totally up to Wayne.
