I read the Wikipedia entry and thats why I said:-

"That sounds OK, provided Static-X are OK with it and it doesn't lead to Sharon trying to sue them again..."

Basically I meant that with Otsegonaut's idea, the band would be making money from the DVD and that could be illegal for them (I can't claim I know anything about law). Also, considering this IS the bands DVD, wouldn't they have to be OK with the whole arrangement first?

They are ok with us sharing it...as long as no one is making money from it. That's where the legalities come in. The band themselves cannot share it at all because of legal issues..but WE, the fans can share it. Just not sell it and make money.

Please don't believe everything in wikipedia. Not everything is accurate. And sometimes blatant lies are posted. Wikipedia is evil Mad

You've got a point!! so who is the first volunteer who share it Smile?

I understand people who bought it for $100 they are pissed off but who cares..

for me its "crime" sell it for $100 so you are supporting "criminals" not Static-X by buying it...(exaggeration) Smile)

I really don't get how its not OK to do it. I would never have bought those albums if I hadn't downloaded their stuff. That's money they would never have received. How else would I listen to their stuff? On the radio? Not likely. On the net? Do you even know how music on the net works? Its downloaded to your computer and played, that's the same as just torrenting it. Just having a quick glance at the CDs I've got that are for bands I found purely from downloading their stuff I must have somewhere in the region of £1000 worth. That's a hell of a lot of money to send a bands way. And yet you insist that I'm doing those bands harm? You're living in a dream world.

excuse me but it is you that is living in the dream world. Most bands use the money that somebody gives them for buying the album to pay for their time in the studio. If you arent downloading your music from Itunes, yahoo, napster or whomever, you are shortchanging the band something that they pay for directly out of their pockets. The gall you have to come on to the forum of a band and ask why it is wrong to steal from them is beyond me.

if you are going to continue illegaly downloading music and being a jackass about it, nobody wants to hear about it so keep it to yourself. I guarantee you that a bunch of people, including myself twice, on this forum have bought at least $1000 US on music Legally.

You're going to have to explain to me why you keep ignoring the bit where I say I've bought all their stuff. Especially the bit in the last post where I said I bought £1000 worth of stuff, thanks to your crappy currency that's $2000 so if anything, I'm worth more as a fan than you are.

What the hell? xamm... Just go to their MySpace and do it legally. If, like you said, it is the same, why not go and do it legally? And BTW, insulting the currency that the band and most people on the board uses is too fucking stupid to put into words.

You know, if people would stop spending 100 bucks on the dvd it wouldn't sell for a hundred bucks. I've seen it go for 40-60 USD plenty of times, enough times to know there's no reason to pay over 60 for it. It pops up on ebay at least a couple times a month. If you don't want to spend 100 bucks on it, don't, you'll find it for 50ish eventually. IMO everyone should stop paying 100+ for it, if no one buys it at that price, no one will sell it at that price. The value will drop and you'll find a lot more copies at 40, 50 bucks. Then again, that'll never happen. I'd be willing to bet 5 years after Static-X is done as a band you'll be able to come across the DVD for 30-40 bucks easly anyway.

Never say such things. U really think that? I fucking hope not. I would be so sad if they were gone so quickly. I want them to last, say, at least til I die. Sooooo, that's not realistic, but at least for the next 10-20 yrs mang! And how do you make your text red? I've been wondering.....(btw, i'm a lil tipsy so sorry if this is kinda off topic)
